Ethical Purchasing & Fair Trade
Ethical Purchasing & Fair Trade
KSPA Packaging is one of the largest corrugated carton and flexible packaging manufacturer in Sri Lanka. We purchase jumbo paper reels (Kraft Liners, Test Liners, Medium, and White Liners) which are produced in more than 25 different countries and purchased from 20 different suppliers. Purchasing of paper depends on customer requirement, the quality and color of the paper and the price. We follow established procedures for inspecting the quality of the paper in accordance with customer specific testing requirements. The countries from which we purchase our paper materials, the paper manufacturing industry constitutes the main source of income, such that the production of paper has significant economic and employment influences on society. We believe that the production of paper can be sustainable only if it allows for the respect of human rights and fair employment and sustenance to fiber farmers, mill owners, their families and their employees. Purchasing from suppliers who insist on sustainable production is also an expression of our commitment to protecting the environment and conserving energy. KSPA Packaging recognizes the intrinsic environmental, social and economic values of forested landscapes and we are committed to delivering the products our customer want while ensuring the responsible stewardship of the world’s natural resources. We purchase jumbo paper reels for use in the manufacture of our corrugated products. As a result, we have a responsibility to our employees, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure that these products contain wood fiber that has been responsibly managed and harvested. And also we purchase resins for flexible packaging production. Currently, we are looking at promoting recycled resins to be utilized for the manufacturing of flexible packages, rather than fully depending on virgin grade resins, which results in conserving the environment by recycling waste.
